Stupid, stupid, stupid

I visited my old high school today and ran into a girl who used to be my "best friend." She and I haven't spoken in almost a year and a half because of the different paths we chose.

But as I talk to her she brings up her boyfriend, and tells me her parents don't like him.
"Why?" I ask.
She scoffs, "Psh...cause he smokes weed, isn't that stupid?"

And she doesn't understand why that might agitate her parents? She goes on to tell me that she's smoked with him a couple times but still doesn't understand why her parents won't let her see him. Hmm...I wonder why. What's wrong with most of my peers?

Why do I even ask about these things anymore?

When I do, I'm always reminded why I don't go to public school and why I stopped talking to her.
